Prevent Retail Pilferage and Promote Proper Drug Usage
Most over-the-counter medications packaged in traditional cartons with separate and removable blister cards are at significant risk of retail pilferage and product misuse. In the retail aisle, pilferers can open a carton and remove the freestanding blister card, leaving the carton empty on the shelf. Designed to prevent the pilferage of over-the-counter medications, SecureOTC combines a blister card securely sealed within an outer folding carton for an all-in-one packaging solution for tablets, capsules, vitamins and other pills. SecureOTC consists of a brandable folding carton and blister card configured together as one unit.
SecureOTC is opened by lifting the back flap and pulling a zipper to access the blister card. This process allows the medication to be removed without damaging the outer carton, which typically contains drug facts, dosing instructions, warnings and expiration dates - information that is essential to proper treatment. The carton remains intact and can be kept for consumer reference.
As a certified supplier of RF-EAS Source Tagging Sensors, Colbert Packaging can automatically apply sensors to SecureOTC during the packaging operation to further protect over-the-counter medications from pilferage - without the traditional labor costs associated with manual tagging.
